Literature Text

Heather was just about to sit down but froze. “What?
Devin picked up a piece of paper and a pen off the table, he scribbled something down. “What did I write?”
Heather was shaking as she sat down. “Atlas.” she whispered.
Devin turned around the page, it had the word atlas on it. “See, you’re a psychic.”
Heather shook her head slowly. “No, I’m a waitress......”
Devin laughed. He put down the paper. “Do you remember when I left highschool?”
Heather looked at the piece of paper. “Yeah, there was a fight, you and some guy off the street fought and no one ever really saw you again. I heard you moved away, someone said you got put into witness protection.”
Devin nodded his head. “It was a woman actually, she attacked me. She was trying to kill me.”
Heather gasped. “Is someone going to try and kill me?”
Devin shook his head. “No, they might force you into service if they feel you out like we did.”
Heather looked around. “Your all alone here.”
Devin laughed. “I meant my organization. We find train people like you to use your abilities to protect yourselves and help others.”
Heather looked at Devin. “Why are you doing this? Who are these people who will force me into service?”
Devin sipped his drink. He put it down and looked up at her. “For the past five years I have been fighting in an underground war to try and stop dozens of organizations who are trying to use psychics as tools for various “wrong” or “evil” purposes.”
Heather shook her head. “This is just not happening, this must be a dream.”
Devin looked down at his glass. He opened his hand and the glass floated into it, without spilling a drop of liquid. “It’s definitely happening Heather, and more importantly, it’s happening to you.” He slowly twirled the glass with his mind in mid air.  “There are people out there who will use you to do terrible things once they figure out how to make you do their bidding. Organizations like Black Dice have been known to kidnap parents or family members of prospective candidates and keep them as a trump card to get them to do whatever they want.”
Heather was trying to absorb all of this information. “What your saying is, I’m in danger, but not from you, from people who want to use me? For what? Why not someone else?”
Devin was about to begin his long widned reply when the window burst open. “Shit.” He said, reaching for his waist. “Stay down.” He pushed back his coat to reveal a Katana attached to his hip. Suddenly a woman walked through the window.
Heather was shocked. “Were five stories up, there is no way-”
“No time.” said Devin gripping the hilt of his blade. The woman standing across from him was a little less than 6 feet tall, wearing a leather jacket and jeans. She had long red hair and narrow eyes. “Looks like we have a problem here.”
The woman looked at him. “Who the hell are you?”
Devin narrowed his eyes. “A nobody, you should leave here before you get hurt.”
Heather knew in her mind this woman had no idea Devin was psychic. She also got the feeling Devin wanted it that way.
The woman raised her hand towards Devin. “Your in my way pest.”
It suddenly became very windy inside the apartment and a large gust flew at Devin. With a single slice from his Katana he broke the wind and it seemed to dissipate. “A wind bender, how nice.” he commented stepping into a ready stance.

This is cool, I love the end. The ideas fairly goo too. It did seem to get better as it went on...
there were some spelling and grammar mistakes though, you should put it in word to check it.
